April Updates: Solomon’s Delicatessen, Kodaiko Ramen & Bar, The Neighborhood Pizzeria

Things are seriously starting to heat up in the world of upcoming food & drink openings now that the spring season is in full swing.
Solomon’s Delicatessen – Downtown Sacramento
The Jewish deli that pays homage to the late Tower Records founder, Russ Solomon, is a highly anticipated Sacramento opening that we’ve been following. Originally announced back in 2016, their flagship store is now expecting to open in June according to management. A recent post on instagram shows some of their progress.
Kodaiko Ramen & Bar
The upcoming sister eatery of Kru and Fish Face Poke Bar was expected to open in December 2018 but that got pushed back to February due to construction delays as reported by Sactown Magazine. While they’ve been participating in a number of pop-up events lately, we haven’t see any new updates on the expecting opening date. After communicating with the team at Kodaiko, we found out that they’re now tentatively expected to open in May.
Additional Opening Updates
Bennett’s Kitchen Bar Market in Roseville, originally planned for March, is now expected to open in late April or early May according to recent Facebook posts. We also spoke with Poke Ichii whose location in Downtown Commons will now open this summer in June or July. Back Alley Brewhouse in Galt now has an opening timeframe, expect them to be open by late May or early June.
Coming Soon
The following spots are expected to open before the end of April: Southpaw Sushi in Old North Sacramento, Mas Taco Bar in Folsom will open on April 18th, MacQue’s BBQ in Elk Grove, Zest Fresh Pastry West in Woodland, Falafel Corner on J Street, Pete’s Restaurant & Brewhouse at their new J Street location, The Crazy Bakery’s new location in Woodland and finally Upper Crust Baking, currently in soft-opening mode, will have a grand opening on April 30th in Davis.
So Close You Can Almost Taste It
We don’t have any official opening dates from these locations but judging by the activity on social media, it’s safe to say that Heat Shabu on Fair Oaks Blvd and MidiCi Neapolitan Pizza in Downtown Sacramento could be opening very soon.

The Neighborhood Pizzeria
Unless you’ve been away, you know that The Neighborhood Pizzeria in East Sacramento is now open. Originally expected to open at the end of March, a temporary technical issue on opening day held them back for a few days but they quickly recovered the following week and opened for business on April 3rd. They’re now operating under normal business hours as of Friday 4/12.
Recently Opened
The following establishments have all recently opened: Doggeros in Woodland, Fire Wings in Antelope, Savvy House Coffee Bar in Elk Grove, Ono Hawaiian BBQ in Natomas, World Traveler Coffee Roasters in Roseville, Fiattos Pizzeria in Woodland, Saigon Corner in Natomas, Goose Port in Roseville and Milka Coffee Roasters in Downtown Sacramento held their grand opening on Saturday, April 13th.

While some of these places have just announced their plans, others have been reported on by local media for some time now. In effort to complete Hyper Likely’s vision of making all upcoming food & drink locations discoverable in the Sacramento region, we recently added these locations to our map and lists.
