I love checking out the latest and greatest places, and I’m eager to have you all on board with me. Now that the notorious Sacramento heat is approaching, I am super excited for all these new drink places opening up in town. Whether you prefer coffee, milk tea, or juice, there is definitely something for you to enjoy!

Coffee

For all the caffeine fiends out there, Sacramento has a ton of coffee shops popping up around the city. One of my local favorites, 18 Grams Coffee & Tea, will be opening up their second location in the Howe Bout Arden shopping center later this summer. Brand new and already open to the public are Luchador Coffee, Savvy House Coffee Bar, and Milka Coffee Roasters, all of which I thoroughly enjoy! Luchador offers the perfect mix of coffee drinks with Mexican flavors, making their drinks really unique. Savvy House serves local Chocolate Fish coffee, and more importantly, amazing service! Milka Coffee is a house-turned-coffee-shop in the heart of downtown. It’s a nice relaxing spot to meet with friends or get some work done, while you drink one of their yummy maple lattes and take a bite of their Filipino-Swedish fika buns, supplied by local dessert baker Joe Boy Bakes. 85 Degrees Bakery & Café, another dynamic coffee and pastry duo, is now open at Arden Fair Mall, and will be coming to Elk Grove later this year.  

Juice

If fresh fruit is more your jam, Wheel Lemonade just opened up their first brick and mortar after serving their all-natural lemonades at the Midtown Farmers Market over the past few summers. Their unique flavors like pineapple raspberry, jasmine green tea, and blueberry lavender are sure to make you wanting more. Nekter Juice Bar, currently serving cold-pressed juices and fresh acai bowls in midtown, will also be bringing their refreshing and healthy menu to Elk Grove in late 2019.

Milk Tea

If you haven’t tried milk tea yet, you’ve got to start now! These milk tea shops, also known as “boba” or “bubble tea,” are opening up across Elk Grove and spreading across the greater Sacramento area. Happy Lemon, originating in Shanghai but now operating over 800 stores worldwide, has two locations in Elk Grove with a few more planned for Sacramento. They are a great gateway into the milk tea realm – try out their regular milk teas, and once you’re ready for an explosion of flavor, check out the “salted cheese” drinks. Sounds weird, but I promise you’re in for a sweet treat of creamy deliciousness. Tea18 is another great option for both milk tea beginners and experts alike. Whether you prefer milk teas or freshly brewed iced teas, you are bound to find something good on their menu.
