The weather is heating up in Sacramento, and so is our food scene! The amount of restaurants are
becoming as diverse as our culture here in Sacramento, from Gai ‘N Rice’s thai style chicken and rice, to Curry Up Now’s all-new brick and mortar fast casual Indian curry. It’s time to take a journey across greater Sacramento and figure out what to eat next!

As you can imagine, opening a new business can come with some unexpected delays and surprises. A
few restaurants that were originally scheduled to open in the spring are now planning to open this
summer. Kodaiko, Southpaw Sushi, Solomon’s Delicatessen (opened July 1st), and Morgan’s Mill have definitely built up my anticipation and excitement!

Asian fusion food is definitely gaining some attention on the foodie scene. Try out a Korean-Japanese fusion burger made with rice buns from KoJa downtown, or some Asian-inspired flavored chicken wings from the newest Fire Wings location in Folsom. Aji Dori (Opened in June) takes their spin on classic dishes with loaded galbi fries and mango glazed eggplant, which you won’t find anywhere else! It was the perfect place on R Street to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday.

You’re going to need a drink to go with all of this delicious new food…what better way to quench your thirst than a nice cold beer? Breweries are popping up across the region, giving us the opportunity to try out some unique brews no matter where you are located. Hungry Pecker Brewing will be opening in Old Elk Grove, Slice Beer Co in Lincoln, and Device Brewing Company’s third location will be in the Greenhaven area.

If you are in the mood for something refreshing but non-alcoholic, check out the new KC Kombucha Bar in North Oak Park for some unique flavors, like blueberry mint and pineapple ginger. Pair a Vietnamese style coffee with a banh mi sandwich at Vinhouse Tea & Coffee in Elk Grove, or a latte and loaded waffle at Morgan’s Mill in downtown Sacramento later this summer. I am always personally super excited about any new milk tea place, so Vinhouse is next on my list. I’m thrilled that Morgan’s Mill will be closer to me, so I can have more of their iced matcha lattes!

For a sweet ending to your food adventure, grab an ice cream cone from popular franchise Handel’s in Folsom, or local favorite Devil May Care at their new Downtown spot this month.
