May Update: Oak Park Brewing Co, Burger Patch, Device Brewing
Oak Park Brewing Co.
It looks like the surprising return of Oak Park Brewing Co is almost complete less than a year since the original brewery abruptly shut down their doors. The new ownership team is breathing new life into the space, the menu and even the branding aesthetics. The opbrewco.com web site states that the brewery is expected to open in late May. Follow @opbrewco on Instagram for the latest updates.
Coming Soon
Bennett’s Kitchen.Bar.Market in Roseville is also expected to open in May. Here’s a shot of their signage as they get closer to opening.
Although no opening date has been set yet, Antojo Street Taco Bar at 1535 N Street is aiming to open in May. Take a look at some of the dishes they plan to offer here.
“Aloha Sacramento” is what you can expect to see inside Tropics Ale House on J Street. It’s scheduled to open in Spring.

Burger Patch
The biggest story of the month is the opening Burger Patch in Midtown. With lines out the door and a legion of enthusiasts willing to wait as long as 3-4 hours to be a part of opening day in addition to a plethora of coverage on social media and local news sources, Burger Patch has hit the ground running with the opening of their permanent brick-and-mortar location. Visit Burger Patch at 2301 K Street between 11AM and 10PM or as late as 1AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
Now Open
Heat Shabu Fair Oaks opened up shop for their soft opening on May 8th. From the looks of this video, a considerable amount of attention-to-detail has been put into their new space on Fair Oaks Blvd. Read what one yelper had to say about their experience.
Pizza Supreme Being wasted no time opening up their space and began serving pizza at their brick-and-mortar location at 1425 14th Street in Downtown Sacramento on April 26th.
At Ease Brewing Company, a brewery in midtown Sacramento from retired Army Colonel Mike Conrad, officially opened their doors for service on May 15th. Here’s a look at their building:
Device Brewing – Pocket / Greenhaven
After opening in midtown’s Ice Blocks, the next taproom location from Device Brewing is expected to be in the Pocket / Greenhaven area. Reports about this location from Sacramento Business Journal began to surface as early as 2017. It’s been listed as “coming soon” for a little while so I’m excited to share with you that owner Ken Anthony is now expecting to open up this taproom in the Summer.
Opening Updates
In our recent post, 40+ Restaurants Opening in Spring 2019, we noted that the highly anticipated flagship location for Solomon’s Delicatessen would finally open this Spring in Downtown Sacramento. They now have an opening date of June 17th according to the Sacramento Bee. UPDATE: Solomon’s Delicatessen is now expecting to open in July according to Sactown Magazine.
Water Pig in Davis has garnered local news coverage from The Davis Enterprise since 2017 which now reports that restaurant owner Calvin Liu is expecting to have his eatery open in May.
Chévere
Chévere is an upcoming local concept that plans to offer a “modern take on Salvadorean cuisine” according to its Facebook page. Chévere will be located in Arden-Arcade near Watt Ave and I-80. UPDATE: Chévere is opening their doors for the first time on Friday, May 24th.

An eatery near Sacramento City College offering Thai chicken rice, desserts and beverages. An Instagram photo of their signage is here. Gai ‘n Rice is expecting to open in June.
Located in Citrus Heights, Angry Birdz Nashville Hot Chicken actually has a presence in Los Angeles. This is their second location and it’s expected to open in June. Take a look at a sampling of what they have to offer.

This ramen bar is being put together by the owners of mOO mOo Tea House which is conveniently located next door to Maru Ramen Bar in Elk Grove.
